San Cosme Mezcal is an artisanal, unaged (joven) mezcal made from 100% Espadín agave in Oaxaca, Mexico, known for its approachable balance of smoke and caramel flavors. It is often recommended as a great "gateway" mezcal for those new to the spirit.

Description

Production: Produced in small batches in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, using traditional methods, including roasting the agave hearts in underground pit ovens, which imparts its signature smokiness.
Aroma: Expect a fresh, smoky aroma with hints of cooked agave, earth, wood, and a touch of caramel sweetness and citrus.
Palate: The flavor is smooth and balanced, with distinctive notes of smoked agave mixed with leather, earthy undertones, and a subtle sweetness, with some detecting a hint of black pepper or biscuit.
Finish: It has a pleasant, warm, and lingering finish with persistent smoke and a slightly dry spice.
