MAVRO

Mavro from Petrakopoulos Winery is an impressive and delicious wine from Mavrodafni and the one that put Kefalonia on the radar of world-class wine critics. The winery selects vines over 40 years old from specific vineyards in the area of ​​Paliki and Eleios. Very strict sorting of the fruit, long extraction and maturation for at least 12 months in French oak barrels.

It has an impenetrable, deep purple colour that predisposes to condensation. Dense black cherry, cassis and sour cherry are complemented by notes of black tea, cinnamon, clove, laurel, lavender and chocolate. The mouth enchants with its concentration but also its finesse.

The crunchy acidity balances uniquely with the full body and the moderate but silky tannins. Juicy sour cherry, blueberry and cherry are mixed with hints of vanilla, cinnamon, black pepper, laurel, purple flowers and cocoa on a mineral background.
