Description

Falernum is a sweet liqueur or syrup, with or without alcohol from the Caribbean, which is used to sweeten and add flavour to cocktails. It is very dense in composition and always contains lime and sugar in its ingredients; however it may also have been flavoured with cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and almonds.

Specifically the JOHN. D. TAYLORS' liqueur created in 1890 in Bridgetown, BARBADOS, is sweetened thanks to the addition of cane sugar. Its taste results from the immersion of various herbs and aromatics including lime peel, almond and clove.
