Don Julio 70 Añejo Claro Tequila was introduced as a limited edition product to celebrate the founder Don Julio González's 70 years of tequila making expertise. The term "limited edition" has been used since its 2012 release, but the product remains widely available.
Aging Process: The tequila is aged for 18 months in American white oak barrels, similar to a traditional añejo.
Filtration: It then undergoes a special charcoal filtration process to remove the color and some of the heavy oak flavors, while retaining the crisp agave flavor found in blanco tequilas.
Appearance: The result is a crystal-clear aged tequila, which is an unusual appearance for an añejo.
